Beach Weddings
Getting married on the beach in Byron is fairly easy to organise. However, you do need to get council approval approximately 6 weeks prior.
If you’re staying at the Byron Bay Beach Houses two popular beaches are available as a wedding venue. The houses are just 3 minutes walk from Clarkes Beach – a stunning beach popular for weddings and special occasion events – and 7 minutes walk to Tallow Beach.
To lock in your wedding on the beach you simply need to contact Byron Shire Council by calling 02 6626 7044 OR filling out the temporary licence application to use council land. You’ll find the temporary licence pdf download and more information here.
Note that the licence the council provides doesn’t cover weddings at Byron’s iconic Lighthouse.
Lighthouse Weddings
The Lighthouse at Byron would have to be one of the most romantic spots to get married. The Lighthouse offers stunning views you can literally walk into with plenty of opportunities for unique and creative wedding photography. Adding to that is close by accommodation here in one of our Byron Bay houses – a choice of two luxury homes to get ready in that are just a very short distance from a spectacular wedding venue – a perfect combination for your perfect day.

There are obviously the traditional limos and luxury wedding cars for hire for your special day but being in Byron Bay means you’ll always find a service a little bit left of the middle – it’s why we all LOVE living here. We love to recommend services that are different. In light of this, if you’re needing wheels of grace and grandeur for your special day look no further than The Luv Dub! – an excellent alternative to the ‘traditional’ wedding car.
