Byron Bay. Home to some of the most laid-back people you’ll ever have the pleasure of meeting. If you’re getting ready to spend some time in this little corner of the globe, then we recommend taking a page out of the local’s book and just take it easy!
If you’re looking for a laidback tapas-style cuisine, the unpretentious and artfully casual Barrio’s is a favourite amongst the locals and tourists. Timber panelling and concrete floors present a grounded industrial styled interior, complimented by a smooth rammed earth bar, bare wood tables for dining, a wood-fired oven and an abundance of greenery.
A simply offering of meats, fish and vegetables are on the menu, catering from the ‘just peckish’ to ‘I am starving’ diners. Start the night with a chargrilled red capsicum Margarita before moving on to their house-made chorizo, roasted onions, chimichurri and octopus grilled chillies with aioli then to the charcoal chook, mojo verde and roast snapper, green olives and meyer lemon.
Need we say more?
Ethically sourced and locally supported, you’ll find the freshness and flavour of each dish well represented by the community’s local ethos. Barrio is open for breakfast (Monday to Saturday), lunch (Monday to Saturday) and dinner (Thursday & Friday) and is located in Habitat in Byron Bay’s Industrial Estate.
