Winter in Byron Bay

If you’re sitting in front of your computer screen with the Winter blues and wishing you were elsewhere, let me suggest that Byron Bay could be that elsewhere, as it’s not only in Summer when this renowned east coast town shines as vibrant as the beacon radiating from its famous lighthouse.

Over the next few months, Byron is gearing up to host Australia’s biggest Winter festival, Splendor in the Grass between 19 and 21 July

followed by the renowned three day Writer’s Festival kicking off on August 2.

Both events never fail to disappoint and can erase those Winter blues as can a stay at the stylish, yet spacious Byron Bay Beach Houses.

Whilst two of the four Houses are undergoing a makeover, the properties known as Clarkes and Byron are open for business offering superb facilities and a central location the envy of many.

Whether you head north, south east or west after stepping out of the front door of your Beach House, a ton of sightseeing options and experiences await including whale watching, a visit to the truly authentic Farmer’s Market, a stroll along the beach or a brisk walk on one of the many tracks in and around town, a tour of the Cape Byron Lighthouse and for lovers of shopping, a spend up at the array of unique retail outlets from fashion to homewares, arts and crafts, furniture and a whole lot more with some featuring a collection of both local and international designers.

Byron is also home to splendid galleries and studios  showcasing permanent and touring exhibitions from talented homegrown and overseas artisans including painters, ceramists, sculptors, glassblowers, jewellers, silversmiths, fabric and paper print designers and photographers.

Before using up all of your energy and possibly the credit on your card, don’t forget to set aside a bit of both for a great meal at one of the oodles of eateries catering to almost everyone’s taste buds. The food served is as good as anything you will find in our capital cities, in fact, the ingredients are so fresh, they are almost jumping off the plate.

If it has been a long time between drinks since last travelling to this aesthetically beautiful town or a place you have never visited, why not change that history and journey to Byron for a relaxing break that is guaranteed to recharge your batteries and have you forget it’s Winter.
